I’ll be honest with you guys, February 2023 sucker-punched me and proceeded to draw dicks on my face as I lay on the ground.
In times like these, I turn to my ancestors, and the ancestors whisper things like, “Get over yourself, we had it worse,” but also, “Make food.”
This is a recipe for a Ukrainian mushroom yushka, a soup. I’ve always liked clear yushkas, to be honest, ones that are a little less rich, but this particular recipe is so potent that it can be used as an entree.

Here’s what you will need:
— Your favorite dried forest blend mushrooms. They can be anything you want, really, but I hope some porcini mushrooms are included.
— A handful of fresh mushrooms of your choice, I recently went with shiitakes, they have a very powerful flavor, so make sure you don’t use too much if you also go that route. Fresh porcini mushrooms are even more amazing here.
— Sour cream
